A great read. I like the EV calc. I've entered nearly 20 challneges and won nothing, but as you said, I still own my stories, so I put some on Medium and got hundreds of pounds from them.

Think of the challenges more as writing prompts for creativity, with a side-option of winning some cash *maybe*
