Another seven days with a family in lockdown
LOCKDOWN. It happened a couple of days ago, in all but name. The Prime Minister made a stern and serious speech to the nation saying no-one is allowed out of their house unless it’s essential and unavoidable. The one concession was a short exercise session daily, if you stayed away from others and there was no more than two of you.
Since last week’s update things have got way more serious, but to my household, it doesn’t feel like it. We were already self-isolating, it already felt like lockdown.
Admittedly, my wife went to the butchers and the supermarket at the start of this week, food was alarmingly low. Also, all our cold symptoms cleared up days ago. This wasn’t COVID-19, we were just following orders.
Unless of course, it was the virus.
My friend had a fever for a week and a cough so disabling he couldn’t walk to the toilet without having to stop, bent over in splutters. He says he doesn’t have the virus because his girlfriend got tested and came up negative, therefore he must be negative too.
