Comedy: How It’s Going, A Progress Report

This article is about me, not the state of comedy in general. Actually, it’s a tiny bit about both

Haha look its me. Hilarious.

At least a thousand people followed me on Medium because they read my viral article ‘I Bought a Year of Tony Robbins Performance Coaching and Here’s What It’s Like’.

I didn’t expect it to go viral, but I can understand why it did, it wasn’t my eloquent command of language that swung it, the article simply plugged a knowledge gap many people had about coaching. Though if I’d known so many eyes would be reading it, I’d probably have written something a little more polished and a little less vulnerable.

You see, the arc of the story was that coaching made me realise I wanted to perform comedy. As such, over the last few years, I’ve had a small trickle of people ask me how it’s going or if I’m still doing it. Argh, accountability, you sneaky thing, you.

So, here’s a long overdue update. This is probably more for me, to help digest the endless struggle of being an open mic comedian, but if you want blood, you’ve got it. Let’s begin.

Comedy!

The short answer is yes, I’m still doing stand up comedy. The long answer is the same, but involves much more of me making excuses for not booking…
