Great read. Very true. Two quotes come to mind when I think about lying.

The first is from physicist Richard Feynman who said:

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself – and you are the easiest person to fool.

The second one is from author and psychotherapist M Scott Peck who wrote:

Emotional sickness is avoiding reality at any cost. Emotional health is facing reality at any cost.

I’ve sent the last few years trying to be as truthful as possible with myself. It’s ongoing work! Excuses come thick and fast. It’s funny how the mind works.
