Hi Michael, thanks for reading. I appreciate your time to make a comment.

To address your concerns, you said I gave opinions about religion, but I'm not sure where.

I'm actually quite a spiritual person and I've been on a long journey of discovery with religion. When I was 18 or 25 I lampooned it, but these days I find a great deal of solace and wisdom in it.

Admittedly, I don't think enlightenment exists, I don't believe there is a "done" point for growth, but I do believe in many Buddhist practices including fasting and meditation and I believe enlightenment is an aim, an endless goal and a symbol of higher power.

When I said Adam and Eve or flying horses aren't true, I'd think that's less an attack on religion and more a criticism of those who take allegories and symbolism as truth. I had a vicar tell me explicitly when I was a teenager Adam and Eve were real people. It put me off the church for a long time, and I think this lack of critical thought (or freedom of it) removes people from religion rather than having someone take the time to explain these are allegorical tales to explain the human condition.

I have a huge draw towards the spiritual ways of life (though I'm still working them out). In no way did I want to talk in absolutes about belief systems. That's not one of my values.

If you're 57 and you're further down that path than me, then great. There's hope that age does continue to bring wisdom!
