I too have been paid by Vocal to promote their writing competitions. And I took that money goddamit. Thanks very much vocal.

But I’d also say I’ve entered 26 writing challenges and won nothing. That’s 78 chances to win. And nothing. Some of them I’ve phoned it in. Some of them I think are my best works. I got nothing. Is it my fault? Probably. Am I bitter? After 26 entries and we’ll over a year of entering, yes, I am. Especially as Vocal pays out jackshit for reads.

Meh. I post on medium almost every day but I’m finding it hard not to hate that site. All me, I know.
