OK, It’s Official, I No Longer Understand Medium (Annual Earnings Reveal)
Yay, it’s another article about Medium, on Medium
I’m not a big-hitter around these parts, but I have been on Medium for so long I’m like a piece of furniture: People sit on me.
Actually, they don’t, that’s a weird joke, but a lot of long-term writers on here trump me in terms of earnings and reads even though I have a respectable 2.5k followers and I churn out articles on the regular.
Admittedly, when Medium were giving out monthly bonuses, I always got $500 because I was one of the 100+ most read writers. Praise, I guess, and I was super grateful, but I still earn very little on here, comparably. I’ve never managed to unlock Medium’s earning secrets.
This brings me to my first point.
I don’t believe you can earn thousands on Medium anymore
A lot of us look at the big names on here and think earning $6,000 a month on Medium is possible. It’s not. I now firmly believe it’s not possible for 99% of writers on this website and I’m wondering if the big names even get that anymore. Would they even say if their earnings had dropped?
