I don’t want to toot my own horn, but around these parts, I used to be a big deal, a contender, I used to get big bucks from Medium, and I used to move and shake with the best of them. People would talk about me with reverence and respect (no one did that to be fair).

The point is I used to earn money on Medium. Remember those days?!

When they were giving out $500 monthly bonuses to the most active and read members, I got one every month.

Skip to now and Medium sends me the email I posted at the top of this article. Not enough earnings to even bother with a bank transfer? Holy moly, how times have changed.

I could see my earnings waning as I stopped posting regularly, but this is atrocious. This $5 covers the membership fee. I’m making zero.

And I know it’s not just me.

I’ve read other writers’ moans about the seismic shift in Medium earnings of recent, and boy oh boy, if this is impacting everyone, let the bodies hit the floor, because this site is D-E-A-D, dead.
