Let’s Look at Some of the Positives About the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic
Battling the grip the virus has on our minds
Listen. I’m worried. You’re worried. We’re all worried.
Last night, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced all pubs, clubs, restaurants and gyms are to close with immediate effect, I had a sort of mild anxiety attack. I am not taking this lightly.
We’re currently self-isolating in my house after some family members had fever symptoms, and whilst I’m pretty sure it’s not COVID-19, we’re sticking to government guidelines.
It’s the only sense of control we have in these remarkable times.
But whilst every day brings more bad news, more lockdowns, more infection rates, more anxiety and more isolation, I want to highlight some good that’s come from these unprecedented events.
Why? Not to be flippant about it but because we’re human Goddammit, and the pandemic is an attack on our mental wellbeing as much as our physical health. We must fight the virus on all fronts, fight the fear and fight the anxiety else we will be letting it take us wholly.
And I’m not going out like that.
