Surprised this article got some negative kickback. Well, perhaps it makes sense. There are some hard truths in here that people don’t want to acknowledge.

I try and tell my kids there are two things will happen when you choose to pursue anything. The first is that you’ll find it’s harder than you think. Even if you feel what you’re doing is your strength.

The second is that you’ll find there’s a lot of competition. Much more than anticipated.

This article is great. I love the bit about fostering a relationship with your inner writer is like growing any other relationship in life. And about how reading is like stretching. I always write best after reading (or listening to) a great writer.
