This is very true! I used to be a purist about writing. I felt like I was entitled to pour my guts out about whatever I chose as that was art.

And perhaps it is, but it’s bad art.

Writing takes ideas and events and shapes them into narratives and stories and meaningful, poetic turns of phrase that sum up whole oceans of thought in a few sentences.

There’s an art to writing that we all have to learn. Not so we can generate click bait headlines or copy that sells units, but because the human mind works in stories and narratives and writing is after all, about connection.
