I use AI large language models (LLM) to generate titles for my article. Yes, that’s right. It’s hardly a war crime, but I’m sure someone’s feathers will be ruffled at that confession as if that’s cheating.

The way I justify it is that if I was commissioned to write an article for The Times, a sub-editor would provide the title. In fact, they’d do a lot more than that, they’d slice and dice my words to fit them into their mould. I don’t use AI in any other way for my writing, it sort of scares me, like a man refusing to use a walking stick lest there will come a day when he can’t walk without it.

But titles? Who cares. Give me AI every day of the week. It’s my personal sub-editor. Thanks geeks.

Anyway, what’s all this got to do with Google Bard vd Chat GPT? Well, I want to share with you a little conversation I had with each, and you be the judge.

Note, I will redact any irrelevant information to make these conversations easier to read. This will be denoted by the use of *asterisks*. However, I promise these are the exact words of both AI engines.
