What a great and simple article that hits the nail on the head.
I’ve worked in the corporate world for 20 years and as much as I loathe it, and as much has I love and value creativity, I’ve not made this connection.
I’d also say corporate structures blunt creativity to the point where lumbering and inefficient systems are implemented, and giant projects fail because no-one can make any real decision apart form the board who are far removed from what’s happening anyway. And everyone else doesn’t care because it’s not their money or risk and they still get paid.
Essentially corporations are about scaling existing orders, and not about creativity or solutions. A great point succinctly made (unlike this comment!)
Thanks for writing.
